Whats the different between a Lodge and a Mini Lodge?
Our Lodges sleep up to 4 guests, with a separate bedroom plus a sofa bed in the living room. Our Mini Lodges are just over half the size of a Lodge but still offer enough room for a couple to relax in comfort. No more than 2 guests can be accommodated in a Mini Lodge. You’ll also find that, while our Lodges have a full kitchen, the Mini Lodges have a small kitchenette with sink, microwave and fridge but no hob or oven. This is more than adequate for reheating meals etc but not for full meal preparation. While all of our Lodges have private hot tubs, only some of our Mini Lodges are equipped with a hot tub.
What is your deposit Policy?
When you book with us, we will charge your credit card for a deposit equal to 10% of the toal cost of your stay. This is refundable if you cancel within the cancellation window shown below.
How long do I have to cancel my booking?
The cancellation policy requires all amendments and cancellations to be finalised by 12 noon
- 3 days prior to the booked arrival date if you’re booking a room; or
- 7 days before arrival if you’re booking a Lodge or a Mini Lodge with Hot Tub.
Any changes following this time will result in a 100% room charge being applied to the credit card used to confirm the booking. All tariffs are subject to alteration without prior notice. Please note any booking cancellations must be received in writing.
If we go into lockdown again, meaning that your stay is no longer permitted, we will waive our cancellation policies allowing you to change or cancel without penalty. Please note that you are recommended to take out holiday insurance if you wish to be protected against cancellation charges incurred if you have to cancel a reservation due to illness (including Covid 19) after the cancellation deadline shown above.
What time is check in and check out?
Check in is from 4pm onwards. Check out is by 11am (10am for our Lodges). Charges may apply in the case of late check-out. We do sometimes offer late checkout as an option when you make your booking – see if you’re offered it on our website. We get lots of requests for early check in and late check out – we’re a small operation and on some days our team have only 5 hours to turn around 14 rooms and lodges, so PLEASE be understanding if we can’t accommodate your request!
Is your accommodation dog friendly?
We’re proud to accept well behaved dogs in our rooms, Lodges and Mini Lodges and in the public areas of the Baiting House (except the main restaurant area). There is an additional charge of £15 per stay per dog for overnight doggie guests. A complimentary water bowl and dogs biscuits are available in the bar. Please note that the rooms in the Baiting House itself are up a steep flight of stairs so may not be suitable for older or larger dogs (or humans!).
Do you allow smoking?
We operate a strict no-smoking policy throughout the interior of the Baiting House and inside our rooms, Lodges and Mini Lodges. We make a charge of £100 for cleaning rooms where the no-smoking policy has been violated.
Do you have WiFi?
We have free Wi-Fi available throughout the Baiting House and in our rooms, Lodges and Mini Lodges. Mobile reception is a different matter – you will struggle to get a signal in most of the property. Make the most of the peace and quiet!
What happens if I damage a room or Lodge?
We understand that a certain amount of wear and tear is inevitable and this applies to the odd smashed glass or broken plate. However, if something does get damaged during your stay do let us know ASAP so that it can be fixed or replaced. We do reserve the right to charge for more serious damage and breakages such as incidents to carpets, furniture, electrical and kitchen equipment, broken windows etc.
